User-prepared libraries runs

The Technion Genomics Center offers sequencing services for user-prepared libraries on our two Illumina sequencers: Miseq and Nextseq 2000.

It is the responsibility of the user to make sure the libraries are compatible with Illumina sequencing, especially in terms of sequencing primers for custom library preparations*.

It is also the user’s responsibility to determine the percentage of the PhiX Control v3 library to be added to the run (other than the standard 2%), as it is important to compensate for low base diversity in libraries by spiking in PhiX Control v3 Library**.

The following flow cells are available for the Nextseq 2000 sequencer:

Flow cell Max read length
(single read)
Max read length (paired-end) Number of expected reads (millions)
P1 100 cycles 100 bps 2*50 bp 100 M
P1 300 cycles 300 bp 2*150 bp
P1 600 cycles - 2*300 bp
P2 100 cycles 100 bp 2*50 bp 400 M
P2 200 cycles 150 bp 2*100 bp
P2 300 cycles - 2*150 bp
P3 50 cycles 50 bp 1100 M
P3 100 cycles 100 bps 2*50 bp
P3 200 cycles 150 bp 2*100 bp
