Quantitative PCR (qPCR), also called real-time PCR or quantitative real-time PCR, is a qPCR assay that can be used to precisely quantitate a nucleic acid sequence of interest. One of the most common applications of qPCR is gene expression analysis, for example, an increase or decrease in the expression of several target genes in response to different conditions or treatments. qPCR is a targeted approach to gene expression analysis, as opposed to RNA-seq and it is often used to validate RNA-seq results.
Additionally, qPCR can be readily applied to the analysis of gDNA targets, applications such as genotyping/SNP determination, methylation analysis, screening transgenic sequences, or monitoring of insertions and deletions.
At the TGC we offer our services with validated Taqman reagents or independent user use.
