miRNA seq

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that play important roles in regulating gene expression. miRNAs are critical for normal animal development and are involved in a variety of biological processes. miRNA lack polyadenylation and their average is 22 nucleotides in length.

miRNA-seq is a powerful tool for investigating the function of small RNAs and prediction of potential mRNA target molecules without requiring available reference genomes. Because of their short length, miRNA-seq requires specialized library preparation kits, starting from total RNA.

It is important to note that not all RNA extraction protocols and kits are suitable for downstream miRNA analysis.  Please make sure to confirm the compatibility of your extraction kit beforehand. DNAse treatment of the samples is also required.
